Information
The resurfacing skin peel uses a combination of acids to remove skin layers.
Depending on the result and condition on the skin there are different combinations
of the acids used. The gradual release of the active principles and occlusive
effect of the gel are the reasons why the peeling is so quick and intense and
make a unique product, which is also particularly safe. There is one peel, which
are not suitable for Medium to Dark Asia skin or Afro-Caribbean skin as pigmentation
damage may occur.
Procedure
A small amount of the product is applied to the surface of the skin and left
on there until the skin shows signs of reaction to it. The acids will penetrate
the skin causing a slight tingling/burning sensation to the area treated. The
surface product is then removed and a mask applied which gives a soothing/cooling
effect to the skin. A post treatment cream will follow which will become part
of a post treatment program.
Risks
Whilst complications from this procedure are uncommon, they do sometimes occur.
These include: Allergic reactions to the products. Immediately after the
treatment and for up to 10 days the skin may look red/brown to dark brown
in areas of past damage. The skin may break slightly, particularly if the
post treatment cream is not applied enough, if this happens there is a slight,
though rare chance of infection. You may experience a flushed slightly red
skin with erythema (swelling). Sensitive skin may still have a slight burning
sensation for up to 4 days. Excessive peeling for 2-10 days after treatment.
Excessive dryness to the skin surface for up to 10 days. It is important
to understand that for a period of up to 10 days post treatment you may wish
to arrange your daily routine around the recovery of the treated area as
the recovery of the skin is visual, in particular the 2nd to 5th day post
treatment.
There is a risk of uneven pigmentation marks and/or darkening
of pigmentation, which can be permanent.
Other treatments available
You may consider laser resurfacing, Dermabrasion, IPL rejuvenation, cometic
creams or indeed no treatment at all.
